Restrictions for Connecting Canon Device with and Without Wireless Router

There are two methods of connecting a device with another device which is already is in linked with printers, connecting it using same network as a connector. But if you are using other method then the used connection device will be disabled.

Wireless Router:

  • Ensure that device as well as wireless router is connected. You can check the manuals provided with the wireless router for settings details.
  • Reconnect with a wireless router if the device is already in link with printer machine without a wireless router.
  • Depending upon the system environment security settings, setup process, router functions and configuration of network devices may differ. You can refer the manual which you have received with the printer machine.
  • Canon doesn’t support certain standard and specifications such as IEEE802.11a, IEEE802.11ac, or IEEE802.11n (5 GHz). Check which standards it supports.
  • While the settings have been altered, the network between the equipment and the router will be disabled temporarily. Until the setup is finished don’t proceed to the next screen.

Wireless Direct:

  • In Wireless Direct, depending on environment internet connection might become unavailable. It implies you won’t be able to use printer’s web services.
  • In this method, you can link up to five devices in one go. You will receive an error if you try to join sixth device while five devices are already connected. The solution for this problem is to disconnect the equipment which is not in use.
  • In Wireless direct mode, the devices linked with printer machine cannot communicate with each other.
  • You won’t be receiving any firmware updates.
  • You have to disconnect when the device is linked to printer via without a router and looking forward to set it up again. You can perform this in the Wi-Fi setting screen.
