Troubleshooting Canon Printers

If the user is facing any trouble while printing from Canon printer or even turn on, then you are left with two options. Either to look out for technical support or taking it to the electronics repairs facility.

There are different troubleshooting methods that the user can follow on their own and in combination with Canon’s printing software to have a quick re-access in operating condition.

But in case the user finds any difficulty while performing the below-mentioned steps then get in touch with Canon Support Canada for better assistance. We handle and resolve all the printer related queries.

Steps for troubleshooting-

Steps 1: Check if indicator lights flashing in a determined pattern. Then refer to your printer manual to check if there is a corresponding error code. Follow the directions mentioned in the manual on how to fix the related problem, or keep trying with troubleshooting if it is not displaying a particular error code.

Step 2: Ensure that the power cord is plugged into your wall outlet and the USB cable is attached to your computer system. Now, open the top or cover of the printer and do a visual inspection to check if there is a piece of paper stuck in the paper tray.

Step 3: Restart your computer system and try to print off something new if the computer has stopped recognizing the printer or the print queue has stopped reacting due to the error in software.

Step 4: Go to computer system’s ‘Control panel’ and select ‘Printers and Faxes’ option. Click on the ‘Add a Printer’ option if your device isn’t showing up in the list. Now follow the on-screen directions in order to make the computer run a test to detect the device.

Step 5: The other method is to uninstall and re-install the Canon software which is accompanied with the printer and navigate the Web browser to their official Web page and download the latest version of the software driver.

Step 6: The last method is to open the software and select the ‘Properties’ or ‘Options’ tab. Go to the option to ‘Test Alignment’ or ‘Clean Print Heads’, depending on which version of the software you are using. Wait till the finishes its alignment and then print off the test page.

Do check if the test page printed properly. If not, contact Canon Support Canada for other options.
